Now in their 43rd year, the scientific days known as Journées Biologiques de Lariboisière are the fruit a friendly association among former hospital laboratory interns from the Hôpital Lariboisière.
Their internship completed, some of them left to practice their profession in the private sector and took the reins of the main professional association of medical biologists, while others carried on their practice at Lariboisière. For these organisers, it was in fact, as from 1960, a matter of promoting a system of continued professional training, intended for private and hospital biologists, by offering ?Sunday at the Hôpital Lariboisière?, plenary conferences in an amphitheatre followed by practical demonstrations organised in the Biochemistry lab.

Italian Society of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology
The Italian Society of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology was founded in 1968 in order to bring together all the scientists involved in the field of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology, to improve the scientific and professional expertise of its members, to promote the diffusion of scientific and technical publications, to establish Reference Laboratories, to cooperate with the other world wide Scientific Societies, to organise local, national and international meetings and courses.
Since 1992 SIBioC has acquired the legal status.
SIBioC is member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), of the Forum of the European Society of Clinical Chemistry (FESCC).
